Mary brought her husband Jeff and their beautiful children into my Chestnut Hill studio for a family portrait session. We first started indoors in the studio room in order to utilize the quite atmosphere while the kids weren’t as rambunctious. Once they needed some fresh air, we migrated outside and utilized the space surrounding my studio for outdoor family portraits. We captured groups and individual shots for a wide variety of family portraits that can be used for their holiday cards and gifts to family.
In this image, we see all four members of their family. Their boy was playing with sticks and I let him keep them in the shot to bribe him to smile. We also used M&Ms as bait. Sometimes, you have to get crafty to get the kids to cooperate! This image has a light and airy feel that reflects their family perfectly. Their outfits are a perfect blend of formal-meets-everyday, creating an approachable but still styled look. This shot was actually taken right down the street from my studio on Bethlehem Pike, moments away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Chestnut Hill on Germantown Avenue. The fall foliage can be seen in the background. Many families opt for a fall family portrait session, but I take family portraits at all times of the year.
