The first time I met Jocelyn was when I photographed her production of Fame the musical, in which she played Carmen, one of the leads. She was only 12, but she definitely brought it! I pulled her aside and took some solo portraits of her and showed her mom the pictures. Little did I know, that would be the beginning of a friendship with both women, who I adore greatly.
Right now, Jocelyn is killing it as Mitchie in Camp Rock. We share the same voice teacher, and if I happen to run into her before or after a lesson, I always like to sit and listen to her sing for a while. She amazes me. We have had many memories at that studio, including countless ring light selfies, traveling as part of our studio and supporting each other, and performing together at various venues in concerts and musicals in the Philadelphia area. Had I not been working in Lancaster this summer in Footloose, we would have had the opportunity to travel together to compete in the Classical Singer Magazine National Competition. She had a blast up in Boston wth our voice teacher and other members of our studio!
She has grown so much since I took those pictures of her in Fame. Check out her headshots here!
